Serial devices?

I am tring to connect a serial shipping scale to a
terminal server via the Remote desktop client. I have the
serial devices box checked but the server will not pick up
the scale. Is their a limit as to what devices can be
transfered? I have tried connecting to both a windows
2000 and 2k3 terminal server.

Windows 2000 doesn't support mapping client serial
devices. Windows 2003 does, but make sure the mapping is
occurring at the server end by doing a net use and seeing
what comes up. If that doesn't produce anything, verify
that your rdp-tcp connection in the terminal services
configuration is setup to map client COM port devices.
