Serial communication problem Access 97 Win XP

An Access 97 application that communicates via the serial port with a small printer to print receipts and open the drawer of a cash register runs fine on Win 98 SE, on Win XP the serial communication does not seem to work. Do I need to change the Access 97 code, or the configuration of the serial port, the dll, ...
Anyone has experience, examples, tips ?
 
Hi,


I think there is a problem with XP (the OS) and some timing with the
serial port. I am actually off line, and I can't check MSDN right now. Also,
I would check to see if Richard Grier control presents the same problem, it
