When I create or modify a Journal entry, the order of the categories
to which it belongs sometimes rearrange themselves in an unpredictable
manner. What determines the order in which the the categories are
organized for a Journal entry?
This is especially problematic when I export Journal data to a
spreadsheet for Pivot Table analysis. The combination of
Category1;Category2 is not recognized as the same as
Category2;Category1. I'm sure that with enough Windows and VB
expertise, I can come up with a workaround, but I don't come from a
Windows background and such a level of expertise is a possibility for
the future. For now, the root cause to be addressed is not knowing
why the categories do not retain the order in which they are typed.
I'm not sure if this is a contributing factor, but I access my
Outlook.pst no a network drive. Sometimes, I access it from Windows
2000 (Office 2000), sometimes from Windows XP (Office 2003).
