Seperate partition for page file causing XP to crash?

Hi,

I've read a few articles suggest that it's better to have a seperate
partition for the page file. Since I got a new hard drive, I decided
to try that out. I've read that it's better to leave a little room on
C: just in case so I set C: to have a page file initially at 2mb and
max at 100mb (tried 50mb as well). And my newly partitioned drive
set the initial and max to 1040mb, which is the capacity of the
partition. However, it gets fairly unstable. It will automatically
restart. I'm using XP Pro. I have also tried not having the page
file on C: at all. But it crashes as well. I'd really appreciate it
if someone could shed some light as to how to configure this.

Thanks in advance.

You don't want to put your swap file on a different partition
on the same drive. It will hinder performance due to increased seek time.

Actually, the partition with the page file is on a seperate drive, not
the same as where Windows is. I've visited the site you suggested
prior my attempts. That's where I got the idea setting 2mb to 50mb on
the C:\
I have yet to find a way to make it stop crashing. The only way is to
leave it as it is, have the whole page file on C: but that's not
something that I wish to do....
