Paul

I have a column with first name, last and Mi all separated
by a space.

I need a formula that will take the first last and mi and
put them in their own columns.

Thats a big problem...

xxx x. xxxxx - entry like this would be fine
(fname init last)

but what if,

john ray c. del sol ???

pretty hard

How would you do it with the formatting you are showing
below? This would get me close enough

what im saying is...
if you have a unique indicator or separator aside from
spaces, it would be a bit easier.

the problem here, is you dont know if a particular person
has two given names...

using data > text to column will not work for you
unless all first names have the same length

Try Data>Text to Columns.

De-limited by space.
