Separating contacts from Messenger to Live mail.

Is there a way to seperate my contacts in my live mail account from the live
messenger account (or even hide the ones I never use)? The problem is I have
a couple hundred messenger contacts for work but I never ever email 80% of
them. When I want to create an email I have to search through all these
contacts to find the few I want. I have my friends and family set as favorite
contacts but I don't want to load the favorite contacts list with every
contact I actually email either.

This is enough of a pain that if I can't figure out a way to do this I am
going to have to switch my mail account to something more user friendly.

I should also mention that I have windows live messenger build 8.5 and use
Windows live hotmail. I have a slow connection when at work so I don't use
Windows live mail unless I am at home.

Greetings,

In the real Live Mail application (not Hotmail), you could just not sign in to Live ID, and
you wouldn't get the contacts from your Live ID account. And in Messenger itself, you can
tell it to only display Messenger contacts.

However, I realize that neither is what you're looking for. I don't believe there's a way
to tell the Hotmail website not to display the Messenger contacts.
