sent msgs bounce right back

I'm using Win Me with Office XP. Most of the time, but not all the time,
when I hit F9 to send/receive email in Outlook, my messages get sent, then
immediately bounce back to me. When I resend them, they go with no problem.
When the msgs bounce back to me and I resend, any attachments still appear
to be attached, but the receiver never receives them unless I delete them
from the original message that bounced back and re-attach them.
I'd really appreciate some assistance with this. TIA
Denise

What is the exact text of the NDR (non-deliverable report) you receive?

It's not doing it at the moment. As soon as it does I'll let you know what
the message is. Denise

Check with your ISP to make sure your SMTP server settings are correct - you
may need to be authenticating to the outbound server to send mail.

PS: Note - posting a valid e-mail address in a newsgroup post, or in your
news account settings, is a surefire way to get spam and SWEN and other
viruses sent to you....see http://www.mailmsg.com/SPAM_munging.htm for help
in the future, but note that now that your address is out there, there's not
much you can do other than changing your address.
