I have two problems setting up Windows Mail, No.1 apparently resolved for
now, No.2 still requiring assistance.
1. Some emails with attachments were not recorded as being sent - still
appeared in Outbox as unsent and not appearing in Sent Items. Error
message: "Your SMTP server has not responded in 60 seconds, etc.............
Error number OX 800CCC19". However, the message recipient reported
receiving the message multiple times - the number of times I had tried
sending, apparently. Others on this service reporting that Windows Mail is
not sending emails might check with recipients if emails are actually
getting through.
Following the advice given in earlier postings, I dissabled the anti-virus
for outgoing emails (in Trend Micro PC-cillin 2007) and this problem has not
recurred since. Fingers crossed!
2. Need help organising incoming emails into folders. I have created the
folders and copied the Message Rules into Windows Mail just as they appear
in Outlook Express in my old computer (running XP and OE6) but everything
lands in the general Inbox, without being moved to the specified folder. Am
I missing something obvious, or is PC-cillin detecting some Message Rules as
a virus, perhaps?
Cheers
