Sending messages to contacts in a category

My contacts are arranged in several different folders. Some of the contacts
within each folder have been assigned the same category. I figured out how
to send a message to all persons in the same folder that are designated with
a particular category. However, is there a simple way to send the same
message to all contacts from all folders that have the same particular
category designation? (I am using Outlook 2003)

Repeat the procedure you already know, then cut and paste the addresses from
the different messages into one.

This still requires selecting the contacts in each folder one by one. Is
there a way to select all of the contacts who have been given a certain
category designation at one time? (If not, this would be a good enhancement
for future Outlook versions.) Is there a better way to accomplish this
objective?

No, it doesn't. If you use the By Category view or a view filtered to show
only one categorty, you can select all the contacts in one category with
just a couple of clicks.
