hi,

how can i send a message to another computer on a network? is there a way
to do it though windows? or only ms-dos. (i thought in windows, there was a
way to do it through using the task manager, on the 'networks' tab)

There are always third-party applications you could use, but there's also
Windows Messenger (which is also available through Outlook Express). The
easiest way is to simply send e-mail using, for example, Exchange Server.

From the command prompt, "net send [username] Your Message." It'll
even work if you use Start > Run > "net send [username] Your Message."

For more options and the correct syntax, at the command prompt type
"net send /?"

For a GUI method, WinXP has Windows Messenger built-in.
