Sending Meeting Invites Over the Internet

Sending meeting invitations within an organisation is normal practice. Is it
possible to send meeting invites organisation to organisation? What about
Outlook user to Lotus Notes user? How does it work if they are not on the
same server and are they as robust as internally organised meetings - eg
proposing new times, rescheduling, adding new invitees, etc? Thank you!

You should be able to send it as an iCalendar invitation, but I don't
believe they're as robust as an Outlook-to-Outlook invitation.
