Hi all,

For some reason, Outlook has stopped sending mail. It all gets to the
Outbox, but doesn't despatch. Mail is still received okay, on all accounts.

Is there a setting I could have changed? Anyone any ideas/

TIA

Bob

Check your account properties on the server tab. you may need to enable
authentication. Ask your ISP if they recently changed how they run their
mail servers. Many have changed to require authentication to cut down on
spam.

Milly,

Thanks for the suggestion, but it doesn't seem to be that.

My wife has an account also, and hers works fine. We both have main ISP
accounts, with Pipex, and supplementary freeUK accounts. In Lynne's, when I
Send/Receive all accounts are checked, so if there is mail from either
account it goes okay, that is Pipex or freeUK.

On my account, all messages from the Pipex mail account is sent okay, but
any mail originating from my freeUK account is not sent. I get mail into the
freeUK account, but that account does not show in the accounts dialog box.

Regards

Bob

My problem may or may not be the same as yours. I'm using Outlook 2002 on an
XP-pro machine with all recommended updates installed. All of a sudden today
I have a problem...with NO changes at ISP or on my end, send outgoing mail
immediately is checked everything WAS working until today. It started when I
couldn't paste a new email address into a contact entry. I didn't think much
of it and figured it was a fluke possibly to do with memory usage. Then I
couldn't send anything. I closed Outlook and reopened and could send one
thing then it wouldn't let me send again. I can open to write a new email I
just can't send it. Then I rebooted and the problem still hasn't gone away.
I haven't installed anything new. It continues to allow me to send ONE email
each time I close and reopen Outlook then won't allow sending until I close
and reopen again.

Pretty weird. Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Sheila

BTW...there's no error message. Absolutely nothing happens. The button just
doesn't work. I've tried the keyboard shortcuts (ctrl enter and alt S), I've
tried the send button and I've tried the drop down menu. None have ANY
impact at all!
