Can not send mail from windows mail unless computer is restarted, and
sometimes must restart twice.
Here is the error we are getting:

Subject '', Account: 'pophm.sympatico.ca', Server: 'smtphm.sympatico.ca',
Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '250 HELP', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): Yes,
Server Error: 250, Error Number: 0x800CCC7D

Getting verrry frustrated!
Any help would be appreciated.

Your mail server does not support SSL.
Go to Tools, Accounts, select the 'pophm.sympatico.ca' account,
Properties, Advanced, unselect the SSL box.

Now have a new error message:

An unknown error has occurred. Subject '', Account: 'pophm.sympatico.ca',
Server: 'smtphm.sympatico.ca', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '421 4.3.0
collect: Cannot write ./dfl7GLd4GJ023937 (bfcommit, uid=0, gid=51):
Permission denied', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 421, Error
Number: 0x800CCC67

and......

will not receive either now:

Account: 'pophm.sympatico.ca', Server: 'pophm.sympatico.ca', Protocol:
POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC19

I have unselected both SSL boxes.

Well, I stand corrected. After researching this some more, I see that
your ISP *does* in fact use the SSL option for both the incoming and
outgoing mail servers. The complete settings are here:
http://upgradecentre.sympatico.ca/FAQGuide.aspx?p=FAQ_GOE

Also, the incoming server port should be 995 rather than 110.

This still does not explain why you could not send while you still
had the SSL option enabled initially.
Make sure "My server requires authentication" is checked.

As always, make sure that you are not running a non-compatible
antivirus like McAfee or Norton.
