I deleted McAfee. I ran Wmutil. It cleared out my Outbox. I tried to send
another message & received the same error msg as usual....."The connection to
the server has failed. Subject 'Re: 1st time', Account: 'Laptop Mail',
Server: 'smtp.east.cox.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No,
Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E"
What really confuses me is that I am able to receive emails through the Cox
Pop Server, but cannot connect to the SMTP Server. What could still be
hanging up?

This says Port 25 is blocked.

Why don't you ask east.cox.net?

Is your laptop connected to the Internet through a service other than
Cox? If so, your mobile Internet connection provider is blocking your
port 25 access to the Cox SMTP server.
