I cannot seem to send mail from a friends house using his wireless
connection.

Outlook 2003 returns an error message saying the mail cannot be delivered.

Do I need to change a setting in order to use another wireless account?

I look forward to your help.

Bob.

Yes. You need to change the SMTP server to be the one used by the network
where you are.

Thanks, is there a way to set Outlook to find and use what is available?

Where do I change the SMTP server number at? Location in Outlook?

When I am at motels with wireless connections I can send mails and it works
just fine. I wonder why.

Not without third-party tools.

In your account properties.

The ISPs they use allow it. The one your friend uses doesn't.

Thanks, that all makes sense.

Do you think there is a setting in the wireless modem properties that would
allow this? If it helps it's a DSL modem from qwest, the 2 wire model.

Not within the modem, since it's an Outlook account property.

I'm assuming that your friend has given you the access key for the 2-Wire
router so that you can connect to the Internet.

Thanks for the reply.

I am connected to the internet with his wireless (I'm paying for it)
((son?)) and can browse to my hearts content. <g>

It's just the mail thing I don't understand. I can cc my mail account
(through another ISP) and I receive it just fine but others on my list
bounce back.
