For years I have used outlook express but just recently I
upgraded to outlook. I am trying to send a link in an
email but outlook will not allow me to do so it says it is
blocking potentially harmful attachments. I got to the
webpage I want to send and click on "file" "send"
and "link by email". This always worked in express but it
is being blocked in outlook. I can't find any setting to
change to allow this. How do I fix this???

Thanks for your help
Mark

Because secure versions of Outlook block shortcut files, I recommend that
you use a little free add-in for Internet Explorer when you want to send
someone a link to a page. You can get MailTo_URL from
http://www.slipstick.com/addins/gallery/index.htm#mailto. It adds an "Email
Page" command to the right-click menu in IE and uses the title of the page
for the subject of the mail message.

Make sure that the registry entry you create to tell IE where to find the
application matches the location where you save the program.

I have found it most effective to type the path of the
link. For example: <http://www.microsoft.com> or
<\\computer\sharedfolder\file.doc> The
greaterthan/lessthan symbols are needed when you have
spaces in the path.
