Sending files directly from Office program no longer goes to Outbox

Sending files directly from Office program no longer goes
to Outbox: example, when in Word or Excel etc., used to
click on "Send to as Attachment", then after entering
address etc. clicked on "Send". "Send" no longer works.
Now have to "Save", then go into Outlook where that email
will be in my Inbox instead of Outbox. Have to then open
and click send, then it goes into Outbox.

Anyone have any suggestions or ideas??

Many thanks

It sounds like Outlook is in Offline mode. Make sure Outlook is not set to
work Offline (File-> Work Offline).

Have you tried a repair of Office already to make sure that no component has
been damaged? In Outlook press Help-> Detect and repair.

No Roady, not in Offline mode. Have not yet tried repair
function, given that changes a number of settings back to
Default mode, but may have to as a last resort, although
from previous experience with using Repair I've never had
much success.

A repair won't cost you any settings unless they are corrupted. A repair
sounds more drastic than it in fact is.

Other possibilities; recreate (do not copy) your mailprofile in Control
Panel-> Mail-> button Show Profiles.

If you are in an Exchange environment and work with roaming profiles you can
try logging onto another computer and see if it still happens. This way you
can find out whether the installation or personal settings are the cause of
this.
