Hello,

when I'm about to chose an attachment (during writing an email o
course) there is an expand button next to <Insert>. The problem is: i
only shows <Insert as hyperlink> as long as the mail format is rtf.
As soon as I have another (html, plain text) that option isn'
available anymore.
A current workaround is switching from the current format into rtf
insert the link and switch back. But as far as I know I can't switc
from rtf to html directly (and vice versa). I need to go over plai
text every time. So I can imagine that this contains some forma
losings.

So how can I provide a distributable solution to get the <Insert a
Hyperlink> working in any format outlook provides?

Any other thoughts?

I'm looking forward to your reply :)

Mat

If you have the file path to the attachment you can make it into a
file URL by prepending "file://" to that path. Of course the path must
be accessible to the recipient and secure versions of Outlook will
treat such a URL differently and some will disallow it.

The URL you construct can be placed as text in the body of the email
and serve as a link.

Thank you, not quite the solution I wanted to hear. I was more about an
hidden option to enable it for plaintext and html ;)

Anyway...
I've built myself an Open File Dialog which takes the path of the
chosen file, converts it into global device (demapping network drives
and so on) and then insert it into the mail body (as soon as I figured
out how to insert text into an email body at the current cursor
position; any ideas?)

Thank you again,

Mat.
