Can I send and recieve faxes using the inbuilt fax program in Windows XP
even though I am using an ADSL Broadband connection?

If so what number should I tell people to send their faxes to so I can
recieve them on my computer.

Sorry if this seems such a stupid question but I cant seem to find an answer
anywhere else.

In order to send and receives faxes, you'll need a conventional fax modem
with a live telephone line attached. You cannot use broadband unless you
use a web-base fax service, such as eFax:

My $0.02:

I use dsl. If I'm faxing my old modem still in the machine powers up and the
connection goes straight through the regular landline. Works ok.
