Is there a way to get a w2k server to send its event logs over to a UNIX
syslog server? I know it's possible to go the other way around (recieve
syslogs on the windows box), but I've come up empty handed when looking
for a way to send over to a UNIX server.

Thanks!

Not that I am aware of, but most management programs should be able to reach
out into the remote machines and gather the data.

Found one...it's called ntsyslog and it's available under the GPL
license on sourceforge:

http://ntsyslog.sourceforge.net/

I have installed it on several testing servers and it's working great.
Very simple install - it adds a service which starts on boot. It also
includes a management GUI which is used to specify which remote syslog
server to send the messages to.

It's great to be able to use the strong compression/log rotation schemes
in linux to archive all of my server logs.
