Sending Emails From Orange Datacard

Hello all

I have a pesky problem in that I can receive emails no problem with my Orange datacard but I cannot send them at all. I am pretty sure it has to do with Port 25 being blocked. I have Googled the issue and have tried all manner of new Port numbers which people have suggested (their problems are not related to an Orange datacard though). There must be a member of PCR who owns one of these things or who knows what to do. When I test the settings in Outllok all looks well, other than a test message isn't sent and all the settings are definately correct.

Any ideas guys and gals?

There appears to be a problem with a number of ISP`s regarding port 25

Virgin/Orange/net card etc I am made to understand they don’t know the cause of the problem and wont admit it is a their fault have spoken to BT/Yahoo no problems there.

But they are aware of the problem others are having????

Sorry I can`t help but if its any consolation thousands are having the same problem someone must sort it eventually

Thanks for your reply. I have actually had the datacard for ages and have recently changed PC and laptop. I only use the card on the lappy. In the dim and distant past I can remember having this problem and the IT guy I had then did something to the outgoing settings and I think routed my outbound email (via the card) through one of his servers. I seem to remember that I went from not being able to send any emails from the card to having no problem at all which was great. I should have made a note of the settings but alas it's one of those things that you think you're never going to need/never get round to.

I just wondered whether anyone on PCR had any bright thoughts. I have rung Orange Business (don't make me laugh) Support and their help was staggeringly unhelpful in fact they did not have a clue what they were talking about
