Hi,

I know this question has probably been covered to death but i want to be
able to send emails from a A97 app with selected attachments using the
default email client (Whatever client that maybe, some of my customers dont
have MS Outlook installed so i cant always use the Outlook 8.0 Object
Library.) SendObject wont allow me to send an attachment. Also when i use
the Outlook 8.0 object library on it leaves the Outlook.exe process active
which means that Outlook is now running in the background when i dont want
it to be. Some sites have Outlook installed but dont use it as their default
mail client so that just causes headaches for me.

The email process is automative, ie there is no user input/intervention. The
system generates the email completely and attaches the relevant file (Non
Access Object Files) The files are mostly PDF files. Is there anything i can
do? I have no experience with WinSocks so i dont even know where to start
there. All i want to do is simply send an email to an address with an
attachment using the default email client.

Regards,
Richard

Thanks sandra but ive already had a look at that site and i was unable to
get anything to work.

Richard

Hi Richard,

Take a look at http://www.granite.ab.ca/access/email.htm - midway down the
page is a section titled "Choosing a method of sending your email.". Here
you will find links to several differetn methods including MAPI and
CDONTS.

Good luck,
