When I "send" an email to my Outbox, it does not change to italics nor does
it "go" during the send/receive. The email is sent but because it it remains
in the box I don't know that it has gone. What do I need to do to change
this?

Outlook XP (2002) 10.6515.6735 SP3

Make sure you're not scanning outgoing mail with an antivirus program.

Thankyou Brian, but I have already disabled the email scan on outgoing mail.
I am however having a range of error messages when sending mail out and I
suspect that's related to Nortons. This "outbox/italics" issue has been with
me from before these messages. So I guess I could ask has anyone solved the
range of "sending error (0x80040109, 0x800421B, etc)" issues?

Norton sometimes requires uninstalling and reinstalling without the mail
scanning feature in order to truly disable it.
