the basic problem: distribution list has 125 members. isp will only accept
25 emails per session. so i would have to send to 25, log off, log on, send
to another 25. how can i 'extract' 25 names at a time to paste into the
email bcc: field?

or:

i have tried setting up a category for the distribution list and adding each
person to the category.(it is possible to highlight a number of people and
click on 'email' to send to the highlighted names). now the issue is getting
a view showing all the people in the category in one place. since there are
several contact folders, each has a separate category view. seems like i
should be able to view a category across all folders, and send email from
there (i know that i can use search to get everyone in a category, but that
is the same problem as using the distribution list: can't send email from
the results).

what is the solution to what must be a common problem?

Depending on your version of Outlook:

OLK - send mail to distribution list "all" but excluding
one or two or more people

Open a New Message.
Click "To:" button (to bring up the Global Address List)
Highlight the Distribution List.
Right Click on it and select Properties.
Select the names you want to send to.
Do not select the ones you do not want to send to.
Click on 'To' under Add to (lower left).

very sorry. i realized later that i didn't mention version: outlook 2003

i don't see what you mean by 'Click on 'To' under Add to (lower left).'

is there a way to see a category listing that includes contacts in
different folders. this may be a better option, since i've found that the
"update now" for distribution lists doesn't always update everyone and
sometimes leaves more than one entry for the same contact.
