sending email pains using office 2003

I have just installed office 2003 pro and everything works well. The only
thing I can not work out how to do is when I write an email offline and try
to send it later on when I am online I have to drag the email to the draft
folder first; then open it and click the send button. How can I set outlook
up so I do not have to do this.
I know that outlook express is the little brother but setting up email
delivery and collection was so much easier in it.

Any help would be great.

FYI:

I am using a dialup connection connecting to my isp's pop3 server and smtp
server.

I tried the check box "send immediately when connected" but outlook
complained bitterly when starting up as it could not send the emails.

When I click send email while offline it goes to the outbox.
The email account I use is a pop3 account via my ISP's server.

The only time my dialup would kick in is when I click the Send/receive
button.

Connect via phone line port (POP3) port 110 (SMTP) port 25 using dialup
connection set to always to dial my default connection in Internet options.
Outlook is my default email program.

Anymore information needed ?

if you use the IE or 3rd party dialer option and IE's connection is set to
automatically dial (always dial), it should work...

oh, is tools, options, mail setup tab set to send immediately?

Hi, Nik!
You might give a try to the free InkSwitch utility.
WWW: http://www.inkland.demon.co.uk
Here is a description:
InkSwitch is a small Windows program designed
for Internet Explorer 4 or later. It displays an icon in the
system tray, indicating IE's current offline or online mode (this
is not synonymous with being connected to the Internet). You can
change this mode by clicking on the icon -- this will toggle
between the offline and online modes. As of InkSwitch version 2,
you may enable AutoSwitch! This new feature automatically
switches IE into online mode when a connection to the Internet is
made, and into offline mode after disconnection - you may never
need to manually select offline mode again!
