Sending a Report to Word or Excell but want to maintain all format

I have a report created in Access and want to send it to Excell in or to
allow my guys to access it since they are not familiar with Microsoft Access
but I don't want the report all chewed up. I want it to remain in the same
formatting as is seen in the report. Can this be done. I have it designed
with lines and devisions that I want maintained after the export.

If you don't want the users to alter the data, you can export to SnapShot.
Any XP machine has SnapShot.
You can also control the Excel workbook security.
But the first rec. is easy and cheap.

Unfortunately I do need them to alter the information as needed. Is there a
way to send the information to another application recreate the formotting
and then set it up as a merge so my updates will automatically update the
excel spreadhseet.

I guess I should have just created it in Excel to begin with and then linked
the crap out of it to make sure it all updates. It will be an awful lot of
work though to recreate this in Excel with all the links.

Using an extract to Excel will bring the DATA to excel in a Un-Formatted
manner.
When you say to alter the data, do you mean the source data in access or the
extracted data in Excel?

If you refer to the db data then an extract to excel on the demand will do
fine. i.e. create a macro that will do this, give the users a from command
button that will run the macro, the macro would name the file
ReportName_date_time.xls. The user will then have access to the latest data.
A macro in excel could be devise to format and organize the data.

Doing an MsQuery type of connection will get you to the same point, no
formated data. But the Excel book doing this, could also have the a macro
that gets the data and organize the data.

Either way there will be work to be done to make this happen.

Rebecca:

The best way to do this is to print your report to a PDF file. Almost
everyone has a reader on their system.
