Frustrated in the Flint Hills

Sometime over the course of the last month, when sending
either a weblink or webpage from Internet Explorer via
Outlook Express, rather than the link or the page showing
up in the message textbox, the sentence "Your files are
attached and ready to send with this message" appears and
the link or page is attached as a shortcut to the message
and the subject line says "Emailing: www.???" (whatever
the url might be). How do I cause the IE and Outlook
Express to go back to sending a link as a link within the
message textbox or a webpage as a webpage within the
message textbox and with the Subject line indicating the
name of the website?

Instead of using Send a Link (e.g. Tools, Mail, Send a Link...)
copy the link to Clipboard (e.g. Alt-d,Ctrl-c) and then use
Tools, Mail, New... and paste wherever you want. Focus comes
up in the To: field so you could fill that in and then tab to the Subject:
field to paste or fill that in with something else and tab to the body
to paste, etc.

If your window doesn't have an Address bar you could still copy its
URL to Clipboard. The simplest way would be right-click, Copy Location.
That is one of the tools provided by the IE5 Web Accessories.
That particular tool requires a modification to work under IE6.
Jim Byrd occasionally posts the necessary instructions.
Search his posts for the string graburl.htm if you are interested
in that option.
