Sending a finished movie to a DVD

I have XP Media Center Addition, running WMM ver 2.1. I have an option to
send a finished movie to my DVD burner. A friend of mine, with XP Pro does
not have this option. Does it have anything to do with the burning software
he has installed?

The window that comes up on my PC identifies the burning program as "DVD
Creation by Sonic Solutions", which came with my PC. I'm not sure what he
has., but he has something.

The download page for WMM 2.1 indicates that you need a third party program
like Sonic's "MY DVD".
 
you have the only version of Movie Maker that has that feature... it's the
MCE 2005 edition.

None of the other versions, including my MCE 2003 edition, have the
option...

Thank you. That cleared that up. So he needs to save out his project as a movie to his hard drive, than use his DVD burning software to write it to a DVD?

yes... and feel free to send any screen shots or other info about your
version.... I'd like to add some info about it on my website, but don't have
a copy to use.
