Sending a fax help

I have just installed a SpeedCom+ internal modem

The problem I have is that I can't send fax's, I have received a couple
already but I can't send them. When I try to send I get a message come up
that the number is busy, this is not the case

How can I send a fax, please help

software used
XP home
Fax tools (off Lexmark CD)
 
Have you tried using the XP Fax program? I do not know if the Lexmark
program is XP compatable. Jym
