I have just learned how to add items to the send to menu
but when i use this feature to move a folder to a
different location it sends a copy of the folder to the
destination. Is it possible to configure this so that it
will just move the folder without creating a new copy. i
am using windows xp. Thanks Ray.

Hi Ray,

I'm not aware of a Send To-related feature that will do this, but you can
highlight the folder you want to move and if you are in Windows Explorer,
and click the button on the toolbar with the green arrow pointing to the
right that will then prompt you to which folder you want to move the current
folder.

In older versions of Windows, pressing one of the operator keys while
clicking Send To> Folder would move a folder instead of copy. If Shift
doesn't work, try the Ctrl key.

Alternatively, add Move and Copy buttons to the Standard toolbar in Windows
Explorer. The Move and Copy dialog gives you access to all folders, not
just the ones in your Send To menu. Not quite as convenient as Send To but
a handy and often overlooked feature.
