Send to Mail recipient problem

O

Owen

I'm having a problem with my right click "send to Mail Recipient" when
trying to send a file. A good example would be, right clicking on a photo
and picking "send to Mail Recipient". Windows XP will ask if I want to send
the file at a smaller size or keep it at the original size. When I pick
either one and it completes it's task, Outlook will not open a new message
window with my files attached. If I have Outlook Express as my default mail
handling program, it does work but not with Outlook 2002 as a default
program. Is this a known problem? Any ideas anyone?

I've reinstalled Office XP but still can't get it to work.

Thanks,

Owen

This didn't help....thanks though. I'm using Windows XP with IE 6.0.28:
SP-1, Microsoft Outlook 2002 SP-2.

And from which application (e.g., MS PictureIt!) are you opening and trying
to send a picture, Owen? Most picture applications require a Full MAPI Mail
Client to send. Is OL configured as your default Full MAPI client? (OE is
a Simple MAPI client and is usually not usable for such operations.)

Outlook is configured as my default Client.....Not sure what you mean by
full though? What application I'm talking about is the general function
under Windows XP..ie, select a file, folder, picture and right click on it.
A dialog box comes up with the option to "Send to". At this point you can
send to the floppy, desktop as a shortcut, my documents or "mail recipient".
When I select "mail recipient", nothing happens when Outlook is my default
mail client. If I change to Outlook Express and select the "send to mail
recipient", a new email message will appear with the select file attacked.
That's the problem.

Any thoughts?

Nope: If Sue Mosher's page
http://www.slipstick.com/config/defaultmailer.htm doesn't help you, I'll
leave this to the Outlook experts.

Does Outlook.exe reside at C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office and is
C:\ the boot drive?

Is OL2002 fully up-to-date at http://officeupdate.microsoft.com/?

Is WinXP fully up-to-date at Windows Update? (IE Help>About>Update
Versions> Is Q828750 listed here? What is?)
