Does anyone know how to have outlook to pick up the mail
every 180 min. automaticly? Example dial out and pickup
the mail, send mail and then hang up the phone. DOES ANY
BOBY KNOW HOW TO DO THAT?????
It's been awhile since I had dial-up access but I'll take a stab at it.
- Configure Outlook to perform a mail poll every 180 minutes. Obviously
that means you have to leave Outlook running so it knows when 180
minutes have passed and can actually perform the mail poll.
- Configure the Connections tab in Internet Options by highlighting your
dial-up connectoid and selecting "Dial whenever a network connection is
not present."
- Click the Settings button. Make sure the dial-up settings are correct
although the ones defined within your dial-up connectoid are probably
okay, too.
- Click Properties. Under the Options tab, uncheck the option "Prompt
for username and password". Click OK.
- Click Advanced. You may want to enable the option "Disconnect if idle
for N minutes" if you have a maximum number of minutes per month and
don't want to waste them by leaving the connection up when you are not
using it. You might also want to enable the "Disconnect when connection
may no longer be required" so the connection drops when Outlook has
completed a mail poll.
This is where I would start. I'm using Windows 2000. You didn't
mention your version of Windows. They are NOT all the same.
And, no, my name is not BOBY but I decided to respond, anyway.
