Send/Receive when first connect not working

When Outlook is invoked it is no longer performing a send receive on
startup.
The send receive e-mail option is checked.
I have read the Microsoft KBA on this which suggests the send receive group
has been corrupted but I have replaced it to no effect. Any other
suggestions please?

Peter

You've provided no information. We'd need to know:
Outlook version.
Mail account type.
Connection type.
What you did just before "no longer."

I am having the same problem with Outlook 2003. I have
never been able to get the prog to send & receive upon
opening Outlook 2003. This would make my day much better
I this one little annoying problem was gone. Thx, Dave

Russ,
I am using Office XP on Windows XP and had a registry corruption under
Windows XP which forced me to re-install Office. This I did but had real
problems trying to get installert to apply anything more than SP1 untril I
read an article on the newsgroups which suggested running msizap. This I did
and was able to reinstall all patches without any more problems. I hav
ebeen tlefgt with this residual problem which I've had before but cannot
remember what it was that cleared it up. Could have been a KB article that
required a registry fix or possibly a re-install of Office I just cannot
remember what caused it to start working again.

All you need to do is set an automatic Send/Receive interval in Tools >
Send/Receive > Send/Receive Settings > Define Send/Receive Groups

Thanks Russ, yes I found this article earlier but it has not resolved the
problem. I will keep looking.

Russ,
I had a value in these settings when the problem started. I removed them
earlier today and have just put them back following your suggestion and the
send receive on startup is now working again. So I do not know whether my
removing them and putting them back did anything but the problem has gone
away!

Thanks.

Sometimes just resetting the interval will get it working again.
