send/receive problems

I have stoppped receiving e-mails even though I have confirmed that I am
still connected to the internet. When I press the send/recieve tab on the
tool bar, it starts working like it usually does and then disconnects very
quickly before the green bar goes all the way across to show 100% complete.
I have been sending test e-mails from another account via my PDA and I am not
receiving them on my laptop. I checked out my set up and as far as I can
tell, everything looks normal.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Jeff

I'm betting on the cause being interference from your antivirus program.
Read http://www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3
Then uninstall your antivirus program, reboot, and try WinMail
again. After you get your email working, you will need to install
a non-intrusive antivirus program such as the free Avast.
Whichever antivirus you select, be sure to NOT enable the email
scanning option.

Does this solution apply when 'Send/Receive All' results in an empty Error
screen? 'Receive All' by itself works fine and I have no problems sending
messages. I have disabled mail scanning in Norton AntiVirus, re-created my
account but the problem with automatically receiving my email remains.

Several people posting here have reported no relief from bad
Windows Mail symptoms until they uninstalled Norton antivirus
(NAV) completely. NAV is a resource hog, and even if it's not
the culprit, you're better off replacing it with the free Avast AV.

I have the same issue. Send/Receive All results in an empty error screen.
Anyone have a fix?
