Send/Receive Commands stop working

Ofter, after opening Windows Mail and sending and receiving emails for a
period of time, the Send and Receive commands will stop working. The only
way I have found to solve this problem is to shut down Windows Mail and then
enter it again.

What could be going wrong here and how might I fix this annoyance?
 
As far as I know, TrendMicro is not as likely as others to be a problem. I
don't know why someone else has not helped here. It appears that the regular
experts are having difficulty keeping up with the high volume of questions
in this newsgroup.

I sure don't know what would cause that problem. Most of the experts here
would suggest that you completely remove TrendMicro anyway and then try
again, but I don't want to suggest that someone operate without an
antivirus, not even for a short period of time. So the only help I can
provide is to check with TrendMicro in case others have encountered the
problem.

Also, if you have installed any programs that work within Windows Mail, then
it is very likely that it or one of them is the problem.
 
I'm not an expert, but without eliminating the possibility of Trend being
the issue there's not much anyone can suggest. It "should be" okay to
uninstall it for brief troubleshooting - OP, don't announce to the world you
are unprotected and don't open email / attachments from un-trusted sources
during that time. Once it is removed and thorough testing has been done it
will be determined whether Trend is the issue (symptoms disappear without
Trend). Then the OP can install something like Windows Security Essentials
that protects the PC without interacting with email. Otherwise, if symptoms
persist with Trend removed, it may be necessary to reload the Vista build.
