send/receive button does not work

The Send/Receive button does not do anything when I click on it. I have
tried F9 and that does not do anything either.
I also tried Ctrl Alt S for Define Send/Receive Groups and that does not
work either.

I am using Outlook 2003

I sure hope someone has a fix for me. Thanks.

Locate the srs-file for that profile and rename it to .old and see if it
works now. By default you can find it in;
C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

Make sure you have Outlook closed when doing this.

Thank you. I found the file and tried to rename it. I get an error message
Cannot rename Outlook; It is being used by another person or program. Close
any programs that might be using the file & try again.

I do not have Outlook open. But when I check Windows Task Manager it will
show Outlook as running after I put the file name in through My Computer

That is a different issue on its own which could be caused by synch
software. For solutions and suggestions see;
http://www.howto-outlook.com/faq/outlookdoesntclose.htm

A not so nice way would be to kill the process and rename the file then.

Robert,
Thank you so very much.
I turned off the email screening on my antivirus software and was then able
to rename the file.
