It appears there are a few of us with the same problem. Yet, the question remains. My Send/Receive button appears for a few seconds on Outlook start-up, then it disapears. I am unable to find it and unable to activate it. Have gone to the end of the universe but still unsuccesfull. Can someone please advise

Have also lost the Rules and Alerts button and althoug I have searched under tools, options, add ins, Adm manager, other etc. and my frustation has grown. Can someone please advise ?

Sounds like a corrupted toolbar. Have you tried renaming outcmd.dat?

To add to what Russ said, is your mail account installed in Outlook?

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal

Good grief. I never thought of that. Surely he would not be trying to do a
Send/Receive with no mail account configured in the profile.

This are the things, I tried; Unistall and Reintall, adds manager uninstall all recent sofware but the result remains the same. I have several emails accounts, which I wanted to view through outlook. I added them and later removed them to see if that was the problem. Unfortunally, nothing happened. The issue remains the same. Not sure if this answers your Outlook question.

A corrupted Toolbar? Keep in mind that I also have the same problem with Rules Wizard which is not under Tools and I can not find it either. I am not even able to set-up some rules. Please Advise.

Yes, I have several accounts which I wanted to view through Outlook. I also have the same issue with Rules Wizard and can not find either. Is not under Tools or options, or custumizing. Please advise

Uninstall/Reinstall won't do anything. Detect and Repair might.
Did you try what I suggested?

Russ, I did tried to detect and repair. I am going to try to rename the File, which was suggested before. I am not very knowledgeable but I will give it a try. If you have additional suggestions Please advise

JF.

No. That's the next step. It will rebuild your toolbar customization
settings, which can easily become corrupt.
