It gets set up as an Excel spreadsheet...

And I have a To recipient but I get a pop-up with a blank recipient showing.

What's the catch?

I am using Outlook Express and have added the email addresses to the
contacts.

I click OK on the popup and the email gets sent just fine.

Does send object ONLY work with IMAP?

If so where would I get an IMAP client?

This is running of a stand alone WXP Pro box and Outlook Express is the
email client.

I am presently using it with GMail pop3 mailer. The mail piece works except
I get a pop up prompts with blank send to names... I click Ok and the mail
does go. However, I plan to email 5 or 6 objects and it's not good to expect
the user to reply to each e-mail.

I prefer to just have the mail sent silently.

Surely there must be a simple way to do this?

Hehe!

So... Outlook Express is not an IMAp compliant email client?

Hard to believe!

Moved the application to my laptop running Outlook 2003 and it just worked.

So why isn't OE IMAp compliant?

Hi Gary,

Outlook Express is fully IMAP compliant and has been for many many versions.
Additionally, IMAP is a RECEIVING protocol, SMTP is used for sending by all
POP and IMAP clients, so IMAP would have nothing to do with the ability to
send email.

However, I doubt that either protocol has anything to do with your issue -
it's much more likely to be a security setting in OE for allowing other
applications to send mail. This article may help you to sort it out:

That is what I had thought as well. I went into the OE security settings and
couldn't find what was preventing it... I get a pop up box and it shows NO
email addresses... however, if multiple recipients the ; is there.

The link you sent deals primarily with incoming stuff, not outgoing.

and yes, I had always thought OE was MAPI compliant.

Thanks for the help.
