Send fax wizard address book

Hi,

I have Outlook 2003 and Fax service enabled on my machine. Whenever I use
the Send Fax Wizard and press the Address Book button, it'd call up the
Windows Address Book instead of my Outlook Address Book. Consequently, I
can't send fax to Contacts in my Outlook unless I type the fax number
manually.

Thanks,
Lee

Except that shouldn't be necessary. Windows XP Fax will default to the
Outlook Address Book whenever it is correctly configured. Verify that it is.

Hi Valentine,

It's likely mine isn't correctly configured. How do I fix it?

Thanks,
Lee

Hi,

Sorry for not being specific enough. My address book is working fine in
Outlook. However, when I do fax with the Send Fax Wizard, it shows the WAB
(Windows Address Book) instead of my Outlook Contacts. The drop down list
has only WAB items, could I somehow configure / change registry so that both
WAB and Outlook Contacts items can be chosen when I send fax using the
wizard?

Thanks,
Lee

Don't want to interfere, but did you check "How to mark your Contact
Folder for Use with Your Address Book" in the MS-Article??

I checked the article and checked the check box as indicated in the article.
Like I said, the Address Book is working fine in Outlook but not when faxing
using the Send Fax Wizard that is an operating system service. To be clear,
the problem happens when I print a document to the fax driver which would
call up the Send Fax Wizard.

Can't reproduce your findings. In every installation I've seen, Windows XP
Fax will default to the Outlook Address Book as soon as it is installed and
configured. Make sure the Outlook Address Book is set as your system's
default.

I have the same problem it looks like the fax application is still
using WAB instead of OAB,
does anyone know if there is a registry key that can be change manually
to do this.?

Not necessary. Setting Outlook as your default mail program and Contacts
Manager will accomplish this.

Did you hear about a solution ?

Thanks,

/S. HADJIAT

Solution?

I have the same problem... but I find this solution:
1. Start Internet Explorer.

2. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options, and then click the Programs tab.

3. In the Contact list lists, click Address Book. Click OK.

and that is all!!

The outlook contact information appear in the send fax wizard. </SPAN>
