It is possible to send data directly from cradle which has a serial to lan
adapter, without having a connection with a pc running Active Sync? I
wish to send data via FTP like i was connected via WI-FI.

Thanks

I don't think I understand, you want to have it in the cradle but hooked to
what? The cradle is simply designed as the hardware interface for
ActiveSync. If you want to remove ActiveSync from the equation, simply get
an ethernet card for the device. You can then use any TCP/IP-supported
communication layer.

The user has not a pc where he works... the only possibility is to connect
the cradle directly to the lan.... and i have to write a software that sends
data via cradle... i can't have any way to communicate directly from
device... is this possible?

It is not possible to directly connect the cradle to the LAN. Cradles
are usually attached to a PC via either a serial interface or a USB
interface.

You could, however, use a wireless (802.11 b) adapter in your CE device, and
provide a wireless hub or router on the LAN. This would then connect the CE
device to the LAN anytime you were within wireless range.
