Send automatice emails based on calendar entries

I have a user who would like to automate her appointment book at her salon.
She would like to start making appointments using the outlook calendar and
then two or three days before a clients appointment email an appointment
reminder. Can I do all of this in outlook or will the calendar have to be
exported to access somehow to send the emails.

You can use the Application´s Reminder event if you set the reminder on 2
days before the appointment is due. If you enter the customer into the
Appointment´s Contacts field then you can get its e-mail address via the
Appointment´s Links collection.
