send attachment as shortcut

Client using outlook 2002, windows xp, exchange 2000 windows 2000. I want to be able to send an attachment as a shortcut but it does not come up as an option. I have tried using , plain text, rich text, html, turning off using word as editor, nothing works. Any ideas

Have you tried just typing the link in the message. You could insert a
thumbnail and then a hyperlink to the main image (assuming the recipient can
access where it is stored).

Use hyperlink instead, Ctrl+I,
