Send a link in IE

I am using XP with IE 6 and trying to use the IE options- TOOLS - MAIL AND
NEWS - SEND A LINK to send a web page as a link. In the subject line I get
"E:mailing contact_summary" and in the body of the message it has "Your files
are attached and ready to send with this message." and then after my
signature it has "-contact_summary.url" and the link as a "paper" link which
acts as an attachment. Before, when I had W2K(using IE 6), when attempting
this it would actually have what the page name was (ie..microsoft help with
IE newsgroups)in the subject line and in the body it would actually have the
link as an underlined link you could click on to open the page . I use Lotus
Notes 6 as my default email program.

Any Ideas why it works like that with W2K and not with XP and how to correct
this?

Thanks,
