I heard about the new Sempron that come's in the old s462. And the Sempron
3100+ in the s754.

Is the Sempron processor a 64 bit? The s754 proc should, but I don't think
the s462 is?

Does anyone now?

No, they're 32bit only, regardless of the socket.

But do they come in a s462 jacket or the s754?

Otherwise, what is the benefit duron > sempron?

I think the general gossip is this
you take your athlon core
make it 64bitness and more efficent
throw in a memory controller
then chop off 32 bits and you have the sempron :P

I think they are all 32b but the 754 uses the onboard memory controller

IIRC they are Barton core chips with 256Kb cache. They are to replace
the Athlon XP line.

Both..

But I dont think you really want one, the 754 one is good because of the
memory controller, a 462 board would be much better done with a mobile 2500+
oc'd a bit ;)

the PR ratings of the Sempron is to counter the Celeron(D?) chips.. so a
3200+ sempron would not be as good as an axp 3200+
