semi space

In the spot where you need it go to Insert>Symbol - Special Characters &
select "En space" - Note that you can assign a shortcut keystroke to it if
you need to use it frequently.

An en space is larger, not smaller, than a normal space. Some of the larger
fonts (such as Arial Unicode MS) include thin spaces, hair spaces, etc. Or
you can try using the ¼ em space from the Special Characters tab of the
Symbol dialog.

200C is a zero-width non-joiner, not a semi-space if a semi-space is half a
space (as the name implies). If something that works only halfway like a
space is wanted, then perhaps 200C would do.
