I recently purchased a new 22inch NEC FE2111sb monitor and it's very nice.
However
quite by accident I found out that it seems the red gun has a problem and
doesn't look
good on the top left corner of the screen. NEC will only give me a
refurbished unit in
exchange even though the unit is less than 2 months old and the problem was
probably there from day one. I could send it for repair, but I would have
to mail it
at my cost to another city and perhaps wait a month for repair. For a
higher end
monitor, this just doesn't seem right. I guess one NEC manager said yes
give me a new
monitor and another said no. I'm not going to take a used monitor for
something I
just paid almost $1000Cdn for less than 60 days ago.

Opinions?

Games sure are nice on it however.

That is a fairly simple adjustment that any video tech
could make. Monitor is probably fine other than it
needs tweaking. I bet that is why NEC doesn't want
to replace it. It ain't broke. Still that is annoying to
see, and is not your fault either. Most of these companies
have contracts with local PC shops to handle warantee
issues. I wonder if there is not a closer shop that you
could carry the Monitor into ? Don't ask for any favors
from a video tech either. Gosh, they must pay us $8 to
$10 per hour, but I've been known to sneak out at
night a time or two .. for a fee.
