self connect

Can someone help?
When I go off line I have to unplug from the phone line
or in a short while my computer reconnects back to the
internet.Thanks
 
IE > Tools > Internet Options > Connections > Untick "Dial whenever ...

Dial whenever is unticked,the only one ticked is always
dial my default.One other thing I didn't mention problem
started some time after installing Spamkiller.Other
suggestions,Please

"Nick" I'm not sure what you mean by re-tick. In
internet explorer, tools, internet options, connections,
the only place that has a tick is 'always dial my default
connection'. I have not changed any settings here. It
has always been set there and didn't have any problems
until I installed spamkiller. But can't seem to find
anything in spamkiller that would cause it to do this.

Under Internet options in the control panel, click connections. You should
have 3 connect options.
1: Never dial a connection.
2: Dial whenever a network connection is not present.
3: Always Dial my default connection.

#3 is what you want for dial up.

If this is not it, post back as their are other things to check.

Have you tried a firewall like ZoneAlarm to see what program is trying
to get access to the internet?
 
I tried Zone Alarm and it looks like Spamkiller is the
one trying to connect. Will watch it a few days
