selecting whole time period for Outlook calendar

it seems with Outlook 2007 the ability to select more than a half hour block
of time has been lost. You used to be able to highlight a time period greater
than a half hour block of time, right click and chose what type of
appointment you wanted...now when you right click it just selects the
half-hour you right clicked on. You lose everything else.

I've noticed that, too. The workaround I found is to use Ctrl+N.

BTW, posting a suggestion isn't the best way to get feedback to Microsoft on Outlook 2007. If you have a question about how to make something work, post a regular question, not a suggestion. If you have a suggestion or other feedback, use the Send a Smile/Frown tool from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=A2E1F4E2-BC0F-4403-B09F-7A677D55F274. This tool will transmit your comments and a screenshot back to Microsoft.
