Is it possible to remotely restart windows XP pro and selecting a preinstalled user account.

You can set up an autologon. One way to do this is to download the TweakUI
tool for XP from Microsoft and use it to set up the autologon.

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp

another way so to do start, run, control userpasswords2 <enter>
and uncheck the box "Users must enter a user name and password to use this
computer."

I don't know of a way to force an arbitrary user to be logged on after a
reboot, although I guess you could change things with the above commands
each time.

You can also return the system you are working with to the console session
via:

start, run, %windir%\System32\tscon.exe 0 /dest:console <enter>

(in the remote desktop session)
