Selecting 'Save Picture As' Does Not Allow Correct File Type

From emails received in Outlook, I right-clicki on inserted or attached
photo, Selecting 'Save Picture As' birngs up Save Picture screen which has
only .bmp option in the "Save As Type" file box. As a consequence I can not
save "action pictures" like .gif. Even if I type file extension of .gif the
saved picture is a still photo.
1. How can I include additional picture file types to appear in the "Save As
Type" box that may resolve this saving problem?

A big thanks for guiding me to this information. I will add the suggested
macro.
This was my first ever post, after sending I went into the discussion group
and found out this issue is bigger than Outlook, and seems to be a Microsoft
(IE) problem which they have choosen to ignore by utilizing all these various
fixes. Since I have to use Outlook at work and "Neceessity IS the Mother of
Invention", my temporary solution to ths problem was to set up Netscape Mail
and forward my Outlook mail to Netscape. Amazingly Netscape doesn't seem
to have this pain in the butt problem. Your guidance to these easy to follow
instructions will improve this this Merry-Go-Round fix.

This didn't work for me. When I copied the code and pasted it in, then
debugged it, I got the error message "compile error: user-defined type not
defined". The highlighted part of the code was
Dim SH As Shell32.Shell

I'm not a coder, and I have no idea how to remedy this.
